Are your knees talking to you?
(or yelling at you?)
Knee pain is a sign that your body is trying to communicate something to you. It's a cry for help.
A lot of people don’t believe they can get out of pain.
And that's because, so far, nothing has worked.
You’ve stretched, strengthened, rested, pushed…and still, your knees don’t feel right.
You might have gotten some temporary relief, but the pain has always come back.
It can feel so defeating.
But the truth is that your body can change.
Your knees are capable of feeling better.
And what often helps most isn’t more effort, but more clarity.
Whether you’re dealing with pain, rebuilding strength, or simply want to feel steadier, this program is here to support that.

Where the pain is,
isn't usually where the problem is
The knee can be the area where issues in the body express themselves.
It's a messenger delivering information between the hip and the foot/ankle, often taking the impact of their miscommunication.
When movement patterns above or below are off, even subtly, the knee ends up compensating.
And that compensation often turns into dysfunction, wear & tear, or pain.
That’s why treating the knee alone often doesn’t work.
And it’s why so many people feel stuck.
We need to zoom out.
We need to look at how the whole body is moving: breath, posture, load, and nervous system.

Your knees don't work in isolation.
They are the midway point between the hip and the foot/ankle.
Many of the muscles that cross the hip also cross the knee; and
Many of the muscles that cross the foot/ ankle also cross the knee.
Therefore, improving hip and foot/ankle function is vital if you want to have a better experience at the knee.
Registration closes Wednesday, October 8th, at 4 PM Mountain (6 PM Eastern).

Let's take the
pressure off your knees!
The Happy Knees program is designed to help people with knee pain understand why their knees respond and scream the way they do and what they can specifically do to support them, reduce pain, and gain strength and function.
It’s a gentle, progressive approach designed to help you consistently decrease pain and increase function.
Let’s get your knees feeling steady, supported, and strong again, so you can:
Climb stairs without wincing, bracing yourself or pulling on the railing. You can go up and down stairs with confidence, not dread.
Get up from a chair easily. Rise without the slow push or groan. Your legs support you because your body works with you, not against you.
Take longer walks or walk briskly without that nagging ache telling you to stop.
Kneel to garden or bend down to pick something up from the ground.
Enjoy the things you thought you’d have to give up.
Worry less about “what if it gets worse”. You’re not stuck in the loop of managing or avoiding pain; you’re actively rebuilding trust, capacity, and function.

THERAPEUTIC YOGA FOR HAPPY KNEES
Session Overview

WEEK 1
SENSORIMOTOR AND BREATH AWARENESS
Build awareness of how the knees currently move (pain-free range of motion, compensation patterns, bracing, breath holding).

WEEK 2
HIP ↔ KNEES ↔ FOOT/ANKLE COORDINATION
Many knee issues originate upstream (hip) or downstream (foot/ankle). Explore how those areas are moving and contributing to the load on the knees.

WEEK 3
LOAD AND ALIGNMENT WITH MINIMAL STRAIN
Introduce gentle loading in alignment, so that the knee is supported rather than overburdened.

WEEK 4
STRENGTH AND STABILITY WITH INCREASED COMPLEXITY
Gradually increase the challenge and monitor how the knees respond.

WEEK 5
FUNCTIONAL PATTERNS AND DAILY MOVEMENT INTEGRATION
Explore activities of daily life (walking, going up/down the stairs, standing up from a chair, bending down to garden or pick something up, getting up from the floor) and how these can be performed with better mechanics and less pain.

WEEK 6
NERVOUS SYSTEM, REST, RECOVER AND MOVEMENT VARIATIONS
The body heals while it rests. Fatigue, abnormal breathing patterns and stress can all affect how your knees feel. Movement variety can reduce overuse.

WEEK 7
CONFIDENCE AND RESILIENCE IN MORE DYNAMIC MOVEMENT
Explore more challenging movements and gentle flow sequences. Gradually increase your confidence and knee resilience so that your knees are more reliable under varied conditions.

WEEK 8
INTEGRATION, SELF-CARE, MAINTENANCE AND EMPOWERMENT
Review the key practices, assess and notice what changed, and map your personalized plan so you can move from feeling GOOD to feeling GREAT.
Session FAQs
Yes, this is suitable for people new to yoga. No previous yoga experience is required.
Yes. These workshops are interactive. You will have both the video and the audio on, so we can interact during the class. This practice is experiential, which, very simply put, looks like this:
I will guide you through a movement practice and observe how you do the movement.
You will do the movement and notice how it feels in your body.
We will work together to quiet any compensation patterns, release excessive tension or breath holding.
You will need these props to support your practice:
mat
chair (with a flat seat surface and no padding works best)
8-foot strap
2 blocks
blanket/big bath towel (something that is dense, not fluffy, preferably twin size)
wall space
2-3" rubber ball (or a tennis ball)
elastic resistance band
It is best to attend live and receive my feedback, but life happens, so if you are unable to attend a class live, you will have access to the recording via a distraction-free platform. Just make sure to catch up before the end of the session. Access to the session platform expires on December 10th, 2025.
If you have osteoporosis, please specify this on your intake form. I have worked with people with osteoporosis since 2020, and I can offer you modifications to make this practice safe for you.

Hi,
I'm Susana.

I will be your guide through the Therapeutic Yoga for Happy Knees session.
I encourage people to do more rather than less and adopt a positive approach to knee pain management.
I teach people to focus on "how to do" things safely rather than what "not to do".
I strongly believe that yoga has the potential to improve the overall quality of life for people living with chronic knee pain.

Be strong, steady and straight,
🙏 Susana
